Join me for a memoir/nonfiction
writing retreat Oct. 31-Nov. 3, 2024

On the heels of a successful retreat in 2023, I am offering spaces to 10-12 people for a writing retreat focused on memoir and nonfiction October 31-November 3, 2024, at the Inn on Gitchee Gumee, which overlooks magnificent Lake Superior just minutes from Duluth, Minnesota.

 

You will arrive late Thursday afternoon and get to meet all the participants. On Friday and Saturday there will be a mix of writing instruction, writing exercises, and free time to write or explore the lake area before grouping together for dinner. On Sunday morning you will enjoy another instructional session designed to prepare you for the "what next" with your project.

This retreat is for anyone working on memoir or other nonfiction project. Your project can be at any stage as long as you are open to new ideas.

Every participant will have their own private room. Feel free to come with a friend to share the experience.

Price for lodging is $775 for the three nights. Funds to pay for writing instruction time are partially covered by a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. Rachael Hanel is a fiscal year 2023 recipient of a Creative Support for Individuals grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
